Sustainable Living in a Greener Economy

The Projects

As part of the Yorkshire Policy Innovation Partnership (YPIP), this project aims to accelerate climate action and nature recovery by improving the application of relevant evidence to policy and practice. This project is a collaborative project between members of the Stockholm Environment Institute (University of York) and the Yorkshire and Humber Climate Commission (YHCC).

In partnership with local communities and public sector organisations, researchers under this project are working on three key areas:

  • Support for retrofit efforts such that heritage buildings become more sustainable in their energy usage.
  • Empower land use changes to enable reduced negative environmental impact and nature recovery.
  • Collaboration with communities who are engaged in environmental projects to build community-led environmental resilience.

The Team

This project is led by Rosa Foster (Director of YHCC) under Work Package 3. Rosa is supported by a team of researchers and non-academic partners from across Yorkshire and the Humber.
