The Yorkshire Engagement Portal (YEP) is YHODA’s free data analytics platform. It hosts a suite of data dashboards and resources that support local governments and communities to understand the region's economic, environmental, and social vitality status by providing access to easily digestible and reliable data.
Our dashboards are built using ‘open data’ - or in other words, data that can be accessed by anyone! We are committed to using publicly available data from trusted sources such as the Office for National Statistics (ONS), the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), and other similar organisations. This provides our users with a couple of benefits:

Is YEP free to use?
Yes! All of YEP is completely free to use and accessible via most internet browsers.
What type of data does YHODA use for YEP and where does it come from?
We use existing publicly available data and do not collect our own. Much of our data comes from the Office for National Statistics (ONS), Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), and other similar bodies. We do not use panel data and instead focus on time series, aggregated data.
Can I download the data from YEP?
No, the data cannot be downloaded directly from YHODA. All of the data displayed is open source and comes from various external sources. However, we will provide links to the original sources so you can access the data directly from them.
How geographically detailed is the data on YEP?
Most of the data is available at the Local Authority level (e.g., Leeds, North Yorkshire, Doncaster, Hull) with some aggregation at the regional level. However, where possible, we've made a dedicated effort to include insights for smaller geographies such as Lower Layer Super Output Areas (LSOAs).
Is the data on YEP kept up to date?
Yes, the data is updated monthly. Starting in June 2025, our main database will follow a regular monthly update cycle, aligned with the update schedule set by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) and other official sources.
Will new datasets be added to YEP?
Yes, we plan to continuously add new datasets, especially those that are most relevant and in demand. We'd love to hear which topics you're most interested in viewing (e.g., Housing, Employability, Health). Feel free to contact us and let us know!
Who owns the data on YEP?
All the data on YEP comes from official public sources. We don’t produce or own the data; instead, we gather it from trusted organisations such as:
